Child Counselling Services

Bluebird Psychology offers low cost/affordable child counselling services. These counselling sessions are for children ages 6 to 18 and are offered by passionate practicum students who are currently training to become registered psychologists. Each practicum therapist works under close supervision from an experienced, registered psychologist to ensure the highest standard of care. This collaborative approach allows us to offer effective therapy while keeping costs affordable.

The Benefits of Affordable Child Therapy

  • Child counselling sessions provided by a practicum student are offered at a reduced fee of $50 per/hour to help support children and families who may be on a reduced budget.

  • High-quality care is delivered by compassionate and knowledgeable practicum students. Our practicum students work closely with our experienced Registered Psychologists who provide ongoing guidance and support.

  • Our practicum students offer new perspectives and creative strategies to the therapeutic process. Their enthusiasm and commitment to learning can enrich the therapy experience.

  • Counselling sessions incorporate the use of tailored strategies to meet each child’s unique needs. Practicum students work primarily from a cognitive behavioural therapy perspective. They also incorporate the use of art, games, and play.

  • Sessions can be done in person at our office or virtually, throughout Alberta.
