Easy Self-Care Ideas

Did you know that self-care isn’t selfish? It’s actually science! Here are some easy self-care tips we love relying on at Bluebird Psychology and why they actually work!

Deep Breathing - Deep breathing activates your parasympathetic nervous system to help reduce anxiety. Even a few minutes a day can make a big difference!

Stretch Your Body - Stretching improves flexibility and releases endorphins—aka nature’s happy chemicals!

Drink Water - Did you know that your brain is about 75% water and that even mild dehydration can mess with your focus, energy, and mood?

Listen to Music - Music has been shown to reduce stress, improve mood, and even lower your heart rate!

Journal It Out - Journaling helps process emotions, reduce stress, and boost self-awareness!

Self-care doesn’t have to be fancy massages or luxurious bubble baths (although those are nice too!). Intentionality with your self-care and relying on the basics can go a long way. Trust us, your body and mind will thank you!
